Clark, Charlotte A “Midge”

Our beloved mother, Charlotte A. Clark “Midge”, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2020 at her home in Columbia, VA.  She was born April 9, 1938 in Newark, NJ and grew up in that area whereshe attended Irvington High School.

On February 15, 1957, she married her best friend, Charles L. Clark.  They raised 3 daughters, 3 sons, a grandson and went on to foster many more children in their later years.   Mrs. Clark moved from New Jersey to Virginia in 1999, where she enjoyed her retirement with her husband.

Better known by her family and friends as “Midge” or “Gigi”, this spit fire graced our lives with her energy, love and kindness.  An original all on her own, she was a beauty that always made a grand entrance.  She was the first behind the camera capturing every family moment.  She was a master quilter and seamstress, passing on her trade to both her daughters and granddaughters.  She was our score keeper, dice champion and Penny Pinnacle queen.  Our hummingbird loving, gardening, sewing, dog mom, with a love for jewelry, collections and most of all her family.  From the camping trips, family BBQ’s, romantic duets, dance moves for days, smile, tenacity and strength, these memories will forever fill our hearts.  These are the gifts and moments Midge was able to give to us and for this we are forever grateful and will miss her terribly.  Love to you Gigi ~~~ Love to you Mom ~~~ Love to you always Midge.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles L. Clark; her two sons, Charles Clark and Timothy Clark; her three daughters, Katherine McCauley, Beverly Odell and Marie-Elena Gensel; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Midge will be greatly missed by her husband, Charles L. Clark, and her life will be forever cherished in the lives of her 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 foster child.

Family, friends and others who knew Charlotte A. Clark are invited to the Sheridan Funeral Home at 4626 Cedar Lane Road, Kents Store, VA, 23084, from 12 – 2 pm on Monday, September 28, 2020to reminisce, grieve and support each other.

In Loving Memory

Charlotte A. “Midge” Clark

Beloved Wife, Mother & Grandmother

If flowers grow in Heaven

If flowers grow in Heaven

Lord please pick a bunch for me,

Place them in my mother’s arms

And tell her they’re from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her

And when she turns to smile

Place a kiss upon her cheek

And hold her for awhile
