He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Rebecca Sacre; father, Elzie John Dorman; brothers, William Purcell, Allen Dorman and Frank Dorman; grandsons, Corey Dorman and Dylan Richardson; and daughter in law, Sandra Jones Dorman. He is survived by his ex-wife, Gracie Sprouse; sons, Gene Dorman, Jr., R. Wayne Dorman (Teresa), Elzie Dorman (Amy) and Charlie Dorman (Heather); daughter, Brenda Gayhart (James); sisters, Rebecca Dean, Ida Garrison and Pauline; brother, Dickie Lee; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; special friends, Darryl Knight and Bill Anderson; and many extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022at Sheridan Funeral Home, in Kents Store, VA, with a funeral to follow at 4:00pm..
