Judy Marie Starkey, 67, of Scottsville, VA, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at UVA Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Starkey and Hazel Starkey; and her brother, David Shelton, of Hopewell, VA. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Starkey (Tabitha); granddaughter, Zoey Starkey, whom she adored; three brothers, Jim Starkey (Linda) of Scottsville, VA, Joseph Starkey (Tammy) of Louisa, VA and Jack Starkey of Buckingham, VA; and a number of nieces, nephews and other extended family members. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Scottsville Independent Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Scottsville Independent Baptist Church by Jim Starkey. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scottsville Independent Baptist Church, 181 Shores Road, Palmyra, VA 22963. Arrangements are being handled by Sheridan Funeral Home in Kents Store, VA.
