Joseph “Joe” Allen

Joseph “Joe” Allen, 77, of Goochland, Virginia, passed away March 11 ^th , 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Allen and Bernice Moss Allen, sisters; Edna West, Bernice Berkley, Thelma Allen, and Doris Markovich, and brother, Fred Allen. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Clara Allen, son Daniel Allen, daughter-in-law Kathy Allen, sisters, Joyce Dabney of Pemberton, Virginia, and Carolyn Satterwhite of Richmond, friend George Smith, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph had a hand in building most of the roads in Richmond, as an inspector with the Virginia Department of Transportation for 35 years. Joe loved raccoon hunting and gardening. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 13 ^th from 4pm-6pm at Norman Funeral Home 2982 River Road W Goochland, Virginia 23063 . A funeral service will be held March 14 ^th , 2022 at 11am at Gum Spring United Methodist Church 191 Cross County Rd Gum Spring, Virginia 23065 with a interment to follow at the church cemetery. The family would like to thank Hospice of Virginia for Joe’s care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to American Cancer Society or Gum Spring United Methodist Church.
