Kenneth Wayne Proffitt

Kenneth “Wayne” Proffitt, 81, of Goochland County, Virginia passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023. To those close to Kenneth, he was affectionately known as Wayne. Wayne was born on December 15, 1941, to Harry and Frances Proffitt. Wayne was a devoted partner to the love of his life Margaret Proffitt. He is preceded in death by Margaret and both parents. He is survived by three siblings, Gary Proffitt (Martha), Ronnie Proffitt, and Diane Ferguson (Eddie), his son Jessie Proffitt, his stepson Adam Saunders and three grandchildren, Bryan Proffitt, Riley, and Ashley. Wayne was a dedicated Animal Control Officer for Goochland County and went on to retire with them after many years of service. Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend his time hunting. The family would like to give a special recognition and thanks to Sandy Caldwell-Newton for all her time and devotion to the daily care of Wayne. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 14 ^th , 2023, 11:00am at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Virginia. Norman Funeral Chapel will handle the arrangements.
