Franklin Delano Roosevelt Lafoon, Sr.

Lafoon, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Sr., 79, of Goochland, VA, passed away on October 17, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Herschel Reinheart Lafoon; mother, Bessie Viola Stanton Lafoon; and stepdaughter, Cynthia Martin Branch. He is survived by his sons, Franklin “Lanky” Lafoon, Jr. (Tanya) of Maidens, VA and Christopher “Chris” Lafoon (Denise) of Hadensville, VA; grandchildren, Tyler, Conner, Lucius, Cheyenne, Trey, Jake, Iyan and Arynn; stepdaughter, Jackie Williams, and her children, Brice, Aarron and Mackinzie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He served his country during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1966. Afterwards, he became a carpenter and continued with his love for hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Norman Funeral Chapel in Goochland, VA. Funeral will be held at 11am on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Amelia Veterans Cemetery Chapel.
