Alvin James Schulze

Alvin James Schulze, son of Carl and Marie Schulze, on January 13, 2022, joined them and other family members and friends in the midst of Our Savior. Al was a highly motivated, intelligent person who worked from the early age of four selling grocery bags on the corner in New York City to the tender age of 80 as a renowned structural engineer. As a young man out of Virginia Tech, Al served honorably in the Navy as a lieutenant. His love, kindness, happiness and generosity paved the road he would have others follow. Al walked others path of beauty as well, growing in the process. His faith, musical passion, humor, generosity, love for his church, WHEAT and heart to serve people taught us the spirituality of life. The Springfield church choir has been an inspiration in Al's life.
Alvin is preceded in death by his mother, Marie, and father, Carl; his brother, Carl; his sister, Betty, and her husband, Walter; his wife, Natalie, and daughter, Susie; and his wife, Shirley.
