Patricia “Patsy” Payne Woodson

Patsy will be remembered for her commitment to and acts of service to her Lord, family, church, county and the fight to cure cancer. She gave 36 years of exemplary service to Fluvanna County, serving as an administrative assistant under four different Commonwealth Attorneys. As a cancer survivor, she held the fight for a cure close to her heart, spending many years fundraising for Relay for Life as a member of the The Mount Gilead Purple Hearts team. Patsy’s unfailing dedication to causes close to her heart came second only to the love and support she gave to her family. Her giving, caring and selfless nature shone brightest when surrounded by her loved ones. She was a dedicated daughter, mother, sister and the best “Granny Pat” anyone could ever ask for. Family night will be held at Sheridan Funeral Home in Kents Store, VA from 6 – 8 pm on August 3, 2022 , with a funeral the following day on August 4, 2022 at Mount Gilead Church in Columbia, VA at 11am . Patsy had previously requested the presence of Elvis and for it to snow during her celebration of life.
