Anna Belle Nichols, 95, of Palmyra, Virginia, passed away on March 24, 2023. Anna was born on September 23, 1927, to Dewight and Florence Belle Maurer Terry.
She was married to Stewart Bennett Nichols, Sr. who predeceased her on April 30, 2003. She graduated from Walton High School in 1946. Mrs. Nichols, along with her husband operated the Nichols farm on Kerr’s Creek Road, Walton, New York for 45 years before moving to Palmyra, Virginia in 1986.
Anna was active in the Cunningham United Methodist Women, was a prolific quilter and a faithful member of the CUMW’s Tuesday quilters.
Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her parents, and her four brothers: Clifford, James, Clayton, and William Terry. She is survived by her two daughters; Nancy Nichols Lewis of Hadensville, Virginia, Carol Nichols Callahan (Stewart) of Richmond, Virginia, her son Stewart “Rusty” Nichols, Jr. of Palmyra, her two granddaughters: Shea Nichols Cook (Dan) of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Kelsi Poole Smith (Benjamin) of Troy, Virginia and her two great-grandsons: Wesley Bennett Cook and Andy Nichols Cook.
Mrs. Nichols is in the care of Sheridan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Cunningham United Methodist Church, 3389 Thomas Jefferson Parkway, Palmyra, Virginia, on Thursday, March 30

at 11:00 am with interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Cunningham Methodist Church.
