Barbara Allen Parrish

Barbara Allen Parrish, 92, of Goochland, Virginia, passed away on August 24, 2024, in Richmond, VA. surrounded by her loved ones. Barbara was born May 15, 1932, to Dale Allen and Mozelle Parsons Allen. 

She is survived by her sons Randall Parrish (Jay) and Dale Parrish (Julia) and her beloved grandson, Connor Parrish. She was preceded in death by her parents, and the love of her life, her husband Leake Parrish. Barbara lived her life in Goochland and loved her lifelong friends she grew up with. 

When Leake began his career as a State Farm Agent in Goochland she worked in his office and enjoyed seeing policyholders daily as they stopped by the office. Barbara was very involved in her church, Corinth United Methodist in Goochland. She was available to play the piano when needed as a substitute. She sang in the choir and loved preparing food with the women of the church. She was happiest when taking care of others. Barbara loved entertaining and traveling with friends and family. She and Leake went on several trips abroad with State Farm, which she thoroughly enjoyed. But her favorite times were the ones she spent with Connor, the grandson she had always waited for. He had all of her attention, and she and Leake had many adventures together with Connor. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sunrise Tuckahoe and Barbara's hospice nurses at Serenity First for their excellent care. A Funeral service will take place at 11:00 Sunday, September 15 at Corinth United Methodist Church, 4997 St. Pauls Church, Goochland, VA. 23063.
