Betty Bowles
Betty Louise Harlow Clough Bowles, 88, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a true friend to all gained her angel wings on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
She was born on May 19, 1934, to the late William Washington Harlow and Mary Frances Ruffner Harlow. Betty was blessed in life to have two amazing husbands, Arthur Wilmer Clough and James Edwin Bowles, both of whom preceded her in death. Her brother Miller Smith Harlow also preceded her in death. Betty is survived by her son, Bill Clough, daughter, Sandy Waldrop (Mike), granddaughters, Terri Lynn Grubbs (Mark), Angela Waldrop (Lauren) and Kathy Fink (Travis), four great grandchildren, Madelyn & Jacob Grubbs and Vivian & Caroline Fink and her beloved grand pup, Bella.
Christianity was the center of Betty's life. She spent her days reading the Bible, birdwatching, completing word searches and loving her family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of her life will be held at South Anna Baptist Church, Mineral, VA on Monday, May 1st beginning with visitation at 1:00pm and service to follow at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to South Anna Baptist Church or American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be provided by Sheridan Funeral Home of Kents Store, VA.
