Anne L. Branigan

Anne L. Branigan passed away on December 31, 2020, at the age of 89, as a result of COVID-19.  She was preceded in death by the love of her life husband, Kenneth and her son, Kevin Branigan. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen O’Boyle (Brendan), Maryanne Grimes (Damon), her son John, grandchildren Timothy O’Boyle, Christopher O’Boyle (Megan), Brittany Ramsey (Matt), Matthew Grimes (Kaylee), great-grandchildren Lillian and Emma Ramsey, and Auden and Wyatt O’Boyle, her brother Anthony Pumilia and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Branigan was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent most of her married life in Rockville Centre, NY until moving to Palmyra,VA in 1999.   Mrs. Branigan while in her 40’s, and raising four children, graduated from Molloy College with an undergraduate degree with a focus in Gerontology and Aging Studies.  She then went on to have a successful career at the Oceanside Senior Center.  Mrs. Branigan was an accomplished pianist and vocalist. She played the piano for many churches and led many choirs during her lifetime.  Her most recent accomplishment was to lead a choir for senior citizens in the complex in which she lived.  Mr. Branigan was an active member of Saint Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church for the last 20 years and delighted in sponsoring converts through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Mrs. Branigan will be remembered for many things, but mostly for her fierce love for her husband, family and her music. A funeral will be held in the spring at Saint Peter and Paul Churchin Palmyra, VA.
