Caitlyn Mayers

Caitlyn Mayers, 15, passed away February 16th, 2025, in her hometown, Goochland, VA after a tragic car accident. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at Cubs Adventure Dining Hall at 12:00pm. Following the service, we will join at the Corinth Global Methodist Church for the graveside burial. For close friends and family, there will be refreshments following the funeral at an external location.

Caitlyn was survived by her mother and father, Michelle and Alex Mayers; her siblings, Samuel Mayers and Taylor Szalankiewicz (Aaron); her grandparents, Georgianna Rogers and Pearl Ellis (Doug), along with her great-grandmother Gay Currie (Ron); many uncles/aunts, over 30+ cousins, and her niece Tilly Jane Szalankiewicz. Preceded in death, Caitlyn joined her great grandfather, Carlos Lee Currie ‘PeePaw’.

Caitlyn was born on September 29th, 2009, in Henrico, VA. Although her life was taken too soon, Caitlyn thrived and lived life to its fullest potential. Her smile would light up a room, her laugh was infectiously contagious, and simply to know her was to love her. Her achievements were in the flight of excelling. From maintaining honor roll, to taking photographs for the yearbook club, starting volleyball at RVC, having the most creative, brilliant mind for artwork, playing her guitar and harmonica simultaneously and most importantly being the social butterfly we all loved so deeply.

Whether you know her, knew of her, or not, we encourage all to come out to show love and support.

The family asks that you avoid black clothing. Caitlyn would have liked everyone to wear vibrant color that reflect her personality.
