Catherine Gillette

Catherine "Tee Wee" Gillette passed away on March 14, 2025.

She was a lifetime Goochland County resident. She was preceded in death by her parents, Corrine and Thomas Thurston; her brothers Herbert "Fuzzy" Thurston, Herman "Shaggy" Thurston; her sisters Shirley "Girlie" Griffith, Hazel "Ni Ni" Barnes; spouses Edward Payne, Sr. and Gene Gillette and her daughter Glenda Kirtley.

Catherine is survived by her son Edward Payne, Jr. (Penny); her grandchildren Brandy Johnson (Kristopher), Christine Payne (Aaron), James Payne, Jonathan Payne, Joshua Kirtley (Ambria), Kristopher Kirtley (Brittany) Benjamin Kirtley (Brittany); her 11 great-grandchildren; as well as her sisters Doris Thurston, Dorothy "Coon" Childress (Charlie), Grace Townsend (Earl). 

Catherine never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed, and she is deeply loved. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19th, between the hours of 6:00-7:30pm at Norman Funeral Chapel, 2982 River Road West, Goochland, Virginia. A funeral service will be 1:00pm, Thursday, March 20 at Mizpah Christian Church, 5257 Old Columbia Road, Goochland, Virginia, with interment to follow.
