Charles William Goodman

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Goodman at the age of 76, who peacefully departed from this world on July 16 at his residence in Palmyra. Charles was born on January 18, 1948, to the late Curtis William Goodman and Julia McCrory Goodman.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 55 years, Rebecca Finney Goodman, his three loving daughters: Julie Haynes, Carole Collins (Rick), and Holly Hodges (Jason); and his treasured eight grandchildren: Trinity & Tyler Haynes, Charley & Carson Collins, and Koda, Keeley, West, and Millie Hodges. He is also survived by his brother Bob Goodman (Sandy).

Charles dedicated many years of service to the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service as an extension agent from 1978 to 2002. A Navy Veteran and esteemed graduate of Virginia Tech, he found joy in his active involvement at Effort Baptist Church. Above all, Charles's greatest source of happiness came from spending quality time with his beloved family.

In honor of Charles's life and legacy, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Effort Baptist Church at 7820 Thomas Jefferson Parkway, Palmyra, VA 22963 in lieu of floral tributes.

Charles William Goodman will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
