Elizabeth Shipp “Liz” Cosner

Elizabeth Shipp Cosner, “Liz”, 93, of Kents Store, Virginia, passed away Sunday, November 7 th , 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Sydney and Nina Virginia Shipp, one brother, two sisters, and husband Gussie C. Cosner. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Catherine M. Cosner of Kent Store, Virginia, and Merle C. Garner of Palmyra, Virginia, along with numerous nephews and nieces, great and great-great.

Liz retired from the Palmyra Fluvanna County Agriculture Service in 1989, after working at Dobbins Insurance Service in Louisa, and the Kirkpatrick store in Kents Store. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. Liz will be remembered fondly by her generous hospitality, treasured recipes, easy conversation, quick laughter, and her love for her extended family. A graveside funeral service will be held at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery 1633 Kents Store Way, Kents Store, Virginia , on Sunday, November 14 th , 2021 at 2pm , officiated by Reverend Jason Taylor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Liz’s memory to Beulah Baptist Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association; 355 Rio Rd. W. STE 102, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901 .
