Daisy Crute

Daisy Beck Crickenberger Crute died on Monday, April 29, 2024. Known for her infectious giggle and warm heart, she will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. She was born on June 22, 1961, to parents Francis ‘Buck’ Crickenberger and Lillian Herdon Crickenberger in Virginia. Daisy married Vincent Crute in 1988, and they had 4 children and built a beautiful life together.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bucky Crickenberger, her daughter, Taylor Frances-Bett Crute and her beloved husband, Vincent Crute. She is survived by her sons Logan, Adam and Benjamin Crute, her sister Gloria Burns and husband John, and her brothers Wayne Crickenberger and his wife Debbie, Cornelius ‘Cricket’ Crickenberger and his wife Nancy, and Battle Crickenberger.

Daisy left an indelible mark on the Lake Monticello community where she lived and served, largely as a Fluvanna County school bus driver. Affectionately known as Miss Daisy, she worked for the Fluvanna County Public School System for over 20 years. She treated everyone she knew with respect, love and kindness.

Daisy was known as a practical joker! She loved to play little pranks and often found silliness and fun in life. If you left a conversation with Daisy saying, “oh my gosh”, it meant it was a good one. A natural caretaker and nurturer, she loved taking care of people, especially her family and children.

Join us as we celebrate her life on Saturday, May 18 at 2 PM at Effort Baptist Church, 7820 Thomas Jefferson Parkway, in Palmyra, VA.  We hope you can join us to remember and honor Daisy Crute.
