Carolyn A. Deane

Carolyn A. Deane, 61, of Palmyra, VA, went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born on March 6, 1961 to the late Andrew and Shirley Thacker.

Mrs. Deane was employed for 38 years with the University of Virginia Medical Center in the operating room and central sterile supply. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Thacker, and her sister, Sandra Morris. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Robert G. Deane, Jr.; daughter, LaCresha Jackson (Delonte); granddaughter, Oaklynn; stepson, Christopher G. Deane; step grandchildren, Riley, Rowan and Rielle; brothers, Dwaine Thacker (Laura) and Andrew Thacker, Jr. (Katherine); and sister, Maureen McDaniel (Tim).

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Memorial Baptist Church in Columbia, VA with Reverend James Benson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10am to 11am . Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 50 Old Columbia Road, Columbia, VA 23038 . Arrangements are being handled by Sheridan Funeral Home in Kents Store, VA.
