Eleanor Poindexter

Eleanor “Ann” Morris Poindexter passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in Louisa County, Virginia. She was born on March 27, 1940.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Poindexter; her parents, Hugh Jack and Gertie Mae Morris; her brother, Hugh Morris Jr.; her son-in-law, Robert Bickley; and her infant son, Vincent Allen Poindexter. She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Bickley and Sherri Barker (Dallas); her treasured grandchildren, Devin Henslee (Kayla), Brittany Davis (Bryce), Chelsea Bickley, and Brandon Bickley; her great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Eleanor Davis; her sister Marie Pace; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ann’s family was the center of her world. Her selfless and unconditional love was a constant source of strength and comfort to those she held dear. She always placed the needs of her loved ones above her own, embodying a spirit of generosity that touched everyone who knew her. Ann found joy in gardening and growing stunning flower beds that often drew admiration from those passing by. Her culinary talents were much appreciated by family and friends, especially her chocolate and German chocolate pies, which will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held at Sheridan Funeral Home, 4626 Cedar Lane Road, Kents Store, Virginia on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 2 p.m., with graveside service to follow at Macedonia Global Methodist Church Cemetery, 17 Byrd Mill Road, Louisa, Virginia. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macedonia Global Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Faye Stewart, 1124 Holland Creek Road, Louisa, VA 23093. 

Her legacy of love and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

The family would like to express their gratitude to her many caregivers who assisted in the past year. Their companionship to her was a blessing.
