Ernest Arthur “Art” Bachman, Jr.

LTC Ernest Arthur "Art" Bachman, Jr., of Gum Spring, VA, passed away on May 22, 2022. He was born on February 22, 1948 in Nashville, TN and was raised in Chattanooga and Athens, TN and Marietta, GA. LTC Bachman resided in Goochland County, VA since 1977. Art attended Emory University, the University of Colorado, the University of Georgia receiving a BS in Forestry, Oregon State University and the University of Richmond receiving a MBA. LTC Art Bachman served 33 years in the Army Corps of Engineers, Army Reserve and Virginia Army National Guard. LTC Bachman served in Saudi Arabia and Iraq during the Desert Storm and was awarded the Bronze Star. Art was an FAA pilot who owned two airplanes and never crashed.
