Frank J. Wisnieski

Frank Joseph Wisnieski 54, of Troy, Virginia was called home by the Lord, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, with his wife and stepdaughter by his side after a short but brave battle with aggressive stage IV cancer.

Frank was born on February 1, 1971, to Lois and Francis Wisnieski in Connecticut.

After completing high school at Cumberland Valley High school in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Frank, at 19 years of age, enlisted in the United States Airforce. Master Sargent Frank Wisnieski or Sargent Ski, as he was affectionately known, retired in 2013 after loyalty serving his country for 23 years.

He went on to ensure aircraft safety in the private sector and eventually settled into his second act of Facilities Maintenance Director in the hospitality industry, working at the prestigious Farmington Country Club. Frank’s final position was with Winsupply of Charlottesville.

Frank also had a passion for CrossFit, which he started in the Military in 2012. Once he retired, he realized he needed a mission to follow, and CrossFit was it! The journey had been a fun one. He greatly enjoyed every day being in a room full of like-minded individuals of all levels working for the same thing. When the pandemic started and gyms closed, he started his coaching journey by teaching his girlfriend, now wife, CrossFit in her pole barn. We worked out together every day. Frank made his coaching credentials official earning a level 1 CrossFit coach certificate and coaching regularly at CrossFit SPRC.

Frank was the pillar of strength and embodied neighborly love. He was a born leader who touched countless lives effortlessly. Frank had a unique and unwavering ability to make everyone feel important, even those he only met a few times.

Frank was madly in love with his wife, Janeen, and their enduring love and companionship were a source of joy to all who knew them. Frank and Janeen built a life of love and laughter enjoying many passions, including CrossFit, of course, gardening, semi-annual brew buses, game nights, countless celebrations and milestones.

Frank is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Janeen; his son, Logan; and his stepdaughter, Alice. He also leaves behind his mother, Lois; father, Francis; his sister, Joy; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepson, Adam.

Frank will be remembered for his encouraging words, his guidance, and his unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
