Geneva Washington

On Wednesday, May 16, 2023, Geneva Washington, a native of Palmyra, Virginia, departed this world to receive her wings and to be with the Lord.

Geneva was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Maggie Anderson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Washington and her siblings Elizabeth, Elisie Lee, Marie, Alive, Cleveland Jr., Barbara and Joanne.

Geneva's memory will be cherished by her devoted daughters Elaine Brown, Karen James (David), Angela Brown (Jake), one son Travis Washington, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister Annie Mae Harris, a devoted niece Tonya Brown, a host of other relatives and friends.

Geneva loved working in her yard until her health failed.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 8:00am-4:00pm, at Sheridan Funeral Home, 4626 Cedar Lane Road, Kents Store, Virginia and a funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Evergreen Baptist Church, 352 Evergreen Church Road, Palmyra, Virginia, with intermittent to follow. Sheridan Funeral Home will handle all arrangements.

In the shadows of grief, my heart does weep,

For my mother, who now rests in eternal sleep.

Her presence lingers in the memories so dear,

A love that will endure, forever sincere.

Her love, a beacon that will never fade,

A bond unbroken, even in the darkest shade.

Though tears may fall, and sorrow may reside,

Her love remains a constant source of pride.

In my heart, her legacy will forever shine,
