On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, Nelson Jackson, a native of Palmyra, Virginia, departed this world to receive his wings and to be with the Lord. He was a bus driver for Fluvanna County Public Schools for 45 years, and in 1964 he started his own logging business. He maintained both jobs for over 40 years before retiring. Nelson loved working on his tractor and his truck.
He was the son of the late Robert B. Jackson and Emma V. Bradley. He was preceded in death by his son Reginald L. Jackson and brother George Vest.
Nelson’s memory will be cherished by his devoted wife and friend of 65 years Thelma Brown Jackson, a stepdaughter Ardelia Darnelle Brown of Richmond VA, a devoted son and daughter-in-law Kevin (Jessica), Palmyra VA, a devoted granddaughter Naomi, Palmyra VA. Three sisters Nora Young of Keswick VA, Margaret Brown, and Deborah Payne Palmyra VA. Two sister in laws Barbara (William) Crozier VA, Gloria Vest Palmyra VA. A brother-in-law Robert Brown Palmyra VA. Loyal nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A walk-through viewing will be held
Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.
at Sheridan Funeral Home.
There will be an outdoor homegoing service
Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
