James “Jim” Thomas Moore, 69, of Manakin Sabot, Virginia, unexpectedly passed away on August 28, 2023.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Kathy Moore, his daughters Jennifer Gunther (Joshua Gunther) and Christina Rockwell (Chris Rockwell), his grandsons, Patrick Gunther, Isaac Gunther, and Chance Rockwell, his brother-in-law Brad Brown (Dottie Brown), his niece Catherine Brown, his nephew Robert Brown, and a host of family and friends.
Jim was a beloved husband, dad, and granddad. On April 30, 2023, Jim and Kathy celebrated 46 years of marriage – they loved raising a family and later enjoying retirement together. Jim loved his family, his home, and the family dog Buckles. He was an avid bass player who was always looking for opportunities to play. Jim loved being there for his family, often arriving an hour early to all events. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and cherished the fellowship there. Jim will be missed by all.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 9614 River Rd, Richmond, VA 23229. Internment to immediately follow at Westhampton Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, Kathy would love plants for their home they took care of together.
