Janice Amos

Janice Kay Amos, 79, of Goochland, Virginia, passed away on August 12, 2023.  

Janice was born October 12, 1943, to the late Rev. Bernard Thomas and Esther Wood Thomas. She is survived by her Daughter Angela Merciez, her Sister-in-law Jeanette Thomas, her Brother-in-law Dale Wilson and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband Burl T. Amos, her infant brother James Thomas, her brother Jerry Thomas, her sister Judy Ritchie, her sister-in-law Judy Wilson, and her brother-in-law Loran Ritchie.

Janice was a devoted employee with Nationwide Mutual Insurance for 30 years. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and cherished the fellowship there. Jancie loved birds, butterflies, flowers, and anything involving nature. Janice took great joy in her companionship with Jazmine, her beloved dog.

She will be greatly missed by many.

A visitation will take place at 6:00pm, August 17, 2023, along with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm. Both services will take place at Norman’s Funeral Chapel, 2982 River Road West Goochland.
