Our beloved wife, mother, and nana, Janice Hanlon, died on her 76th birthday, April 12th, 2024. She fought a brave fight against cancer for 18 months. Jan was surrounded by her family as she found rest from the battle.
Janice was the heart and soul of our family. She graduated from Milford High School in 1966. Jan and her soulmate, Mike, were married for 51 years and made a life together in Monroe, Connecticut. They raised two children, Justin Hanlon (47) of Milford, Connecticut and Sarah Dan (44) of Goochland, Virginia. She built a happy and loving home, full of homemade sauces, jams, and cookies.
Janice is survived by her husband Mike, son Justin (Kelly), daughter Sarah (Mike) and grandchildren, Michael Adam (16), Ryan Oscar (15), and Hannah Sophia (13). She was the “fun nana,” taking the kids on outings to museums, craft fairs, bookstores and tons of ice cream. She generally spoiled them rotten and will be greatly missed. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Charney (Margaret) of Milford, Connecticut, and many other beloved family and cousins.
Janice had a huge heart and a passion for making quilts. She was the core of our home and family. She will be dearly missed.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
