Jerry Shelton

Jerry Meace Shelton, 87, of Gum Spring, Va. departed this life Feb. 2, 2025. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Irma. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susie, his children, Mary Kelley, Eric, Brandi, Beth, and Sonya, six grandchildren, siblings, Janet and David; and his compassionate caregiver, Heather Higgs. 

Jerry was a US Navy veteran serving on the USS Intrepid. He retired from Old Dominion Metal and spent many days golfing as a former member of Hanover Country Club. Although Alzheimer's clouded his mind in latter years, his well-known sense of humor remained intact until his last days. 

Visitation will be held at Forest Grove Christian Church 3881 Hadensville-Fife Rd, Goochland, Virginia on February 6, 2025, at 1pm with services at 2pm and interment immediately following in church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Forest Grove Christian Church.
