John A. Hodges

John Alfred Hodges, 80, a lifelong resident of Goochland County, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 19, 2024.

He is the son of the late John D. Hodges and D. Mae Fleming Hodges. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Robert and James Hodges, as well as his sister Janice Carneal.

John is survived by his brother David Hodges (Anne Marie), his sister-in-law Sally Hodges, his nephew and caregiver Chris Hodges, his niece Heather Hanley (Rory), his nephews Brian, Patrick, Shawn and Johnny.

John retired after many years at AT&T and was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam war. He loved sitting outside with his cats and waving to friends as they drove by.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 25th, at Norman Funeral Chapel, 2982 River Road West, Goochland, between the hours of 6:00-8:00pm. A graveside service will be held 11:00am on Friday, July 26th at Oakland Baptist Church, 2885 Oakland Church Road, Gum Spring, Virginia.
