John E. Jones

John Edward Jones, born March 22, 1939, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2024. He served our country in the United States Navy and retired as a Postmaster with the USPS. He cherished his family, friends, and loved to play golf and relax by his woodstove.  

He is proceeded in death by his parents Thomas and Dorothy Jones; his brothers Tommie Jones, James Jones, Robert Jones, and Ronald Jones; and sister Virginia Jones.  

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Jones; son Johnny Jones; son and daughter-in-law Dwayne and Melissa Jones. His grandchildren Casey Talley, Kevin Jones, Richard Robey (Whitney), Cody Jones and Emery Jones. Great grandchildren, Addison, Peyton, Colton, Jaxsen, Cayleigh and Kynleigh. Brothers Donald Jones, Richard Jones, and Allan Jones. Sister Agnes Davis. 

Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 pm and the funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024, both services will be held at Sheridan Funeral Home: 4626 Cedar Lane Rd., Kents Store, VA 23084.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Institute.
