Barbara Ann Martin Johnson

Barbara Ann Martin Johnson departed this Earthly life and entered into eternal rest on June 10, 2019 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was a dedicated mother, compassionate grandmother and great grandmother, and an affectionate person with an amazing spirit. Barbara was a devoted member of The Haden Chapel United Methodist Church. She was loved by all and a blessing to many. Barbara is preceded in death by her mother Pauline Martin , her father Lawrence Payne, two brothers, Paul Martin and Arthur Martin, and one sister, Helen Dickens. She leaves to cherish her memory 5 children, Rhonda Washington, Herret Washington Jr. (Darlene Blair), Tina Washington (Steven Robinson), Derrick Johnson and his wife, Vallarie , and Kevin Johnson (Cassie Clark) all of Charlottesville, Va. Two brothers Lloyd Martin Sr. of Louisa, Va. ,Philip Payne Sr. and sister-in-law, Sandra Payne of Charlottesville, Va., one sister Pearl Greene of Washington DC., 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A devoted niece and nephew, Patsy and Edward Jones of Charlottesville, VA. A special and devoted friend, Mary Clarke of Charlottesville, Va. and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at Lake Christian Church 733 S Boston Rd, Palmyra, VA. 22963 June 15, 2019 at 2pm. Interment will follow at the family cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the church of your choice. Repast will follow at the home of Robin Martin and Anthony Booker. The family would like to thank you for your kind words, generous acts, and support during this time.
