On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, Noel Anthony Kerwick passed away at the age of 53. Formerly of Littleton, Co Tipperary, Ireland, Noel resided in Palmyra, Virginia. He was a devoted and loving husband, dad, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Noel was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Margaret, his brother James “Jimmy” and his sister Marie McCarthy. He is survived by the love of his life- his wife of 18 years, Carrie and his precious daughter and
pride and joy, Margaret “Maggie” Slinkman Gary. He is also survived by family in his beloved home country of Ireland, his brothers Pat and his wife Marion, Michael and his wife Kitty, Gerard, and his sister, Majella Tobin and her husband Tom. In his American family, he is survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law James “Pop Pop” and Margaret Crawford, his sister-in-law Joyce “Kim” Feight and her husband William, his brother-in-law George “Jerry” Slinkman and his wife Vicki. And not to forget his many nieces and nephews he always lovingly referred to as the lads.
Noel was born on January 20th 1966 in Co Tipperary, Ireland to Michael and Margaret “Peggie” Kerwick. He came to America at the age of 23 with $200 in his pocket, a 3-month Visa, and a dream. He was co-owner with his wife of From the Ground Up Landscaping where he worked with clients whom he came to call dear friends. He enjoyed his fishing trips and the annual Dark Star Orchestra outing with the guys. He loved family get-togethers, singing, and playing the guitar.
Noel was intellectually, mechanically, and musically gifted. He knew a lot about everything and had the patience to teach you. He had an infectious Irish smile that spread across his entire face, an incredible gift of gab, and a knack for great craic. “Gud Luck, Gud Luck, Gud Luck…”
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 2nd at 2 pm at Effort Baptist Church, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue.
