Douglas Kinney

On Monday, January 16, 2023, Douglas M. Kinney, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep.  He was seventy-nine.  Born to Addison and Margaret Kinney, Doug was the second oldest of four children.  While attending University of Illinois, Doug met Susan, whom he loved as his wife, best friend, and soul mate for over forty years. Doug was a man who loved Jesus as his Lord and Savior and led his family with God at the center.  Employed by Reynolds’ Metals Company (now Alcoa) for over 30 years, Doug retired as an Information Technology Client Services Manager, having previously served as both Sales Manager and Senior Marketing Manager.  Doug was known by his family as deeply loyal and generous and was best known by all for his quick-witted humor. Doug was predeceased by his wife, Susan, and his two brothers, Clinton and Richard Kinney.  Doug is survived by his sister, Carolyn Primus (Gino), his daughters, Deborah Davis (John), Beth Armbruster (Eric), and Sarah Kinney, and his four granddaughters, Hannah and Rachel Davis and Ellie and Alex Armbruster.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 1 PM at Salem Baptist Church in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able make a donation to Goochland Cares .
