Lindsay White

Harriette Lindsay Kent White of Bremo Bluff, VA passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at UVA Medical Center. Born November 18, 1944, in Rocky Mount, NC, she was the daughter of A. Holland Kent Jr. and Harriette Thorne Kent.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Richard H. White.  Lin grew up in Richmond, VA with an early career in banking.  She moved to Fork Union after marrying Dick where she spent many years working and volunteering in the Fluvanna County school system.  Lin loved being involved in her community:  She was a long-time member of Fluvanna Farm Bureau Women’s committee and was active in starting Old Farm Day.  She is a member and past Treasurer of the Point of Fork Chapter of the DAR.  Lin is a member of the Fork Union Baptist Church and enjoyed all the wonderful people and friends she has made there. Lin is survived by her loving sons, Holland Hartwell (Jessica) and Peyton Loving; stepson, Richard Steven (Colin); grandchildren, Mio, Mika, and Iva; brother, Al Holland Kent III (Julia); brother-in-law, William S. White; sister-in-law, Harriet (Russell) Johnston; best friend and “sister”, Susan Dwyer; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. A graveside service will be held at Fork Union Memorial Cemetery, 4218 James Madison Hwy, Fork Union, Virginia, on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 3:30 p.m.  Visitation will follow at Fork Union Baptist Church, 4745 James Madison Hwy, Fork Union.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society and in support of the local 4-H and FFA chapters. Funeral services will be cared for by Sheridan Funeral Home of Kents Store, Va.
