Ms. Arlene Manuel died peacefully at her home in Lake Monticello on July 4th. She was 81 years old. Arlene was born in Calcutta India on August 16, 1937, to Margaret and Eric Manuel.
Arlene was a great lover of music. She stepped on to the night club scene in Calcutta India, singing lead, with only a true note, a keen ear for music, and a delightful smile. Before she began singing, she had an abiding love and talent for dance, part
icularly in the sphere of the jitterbug.
Arlene is survived by her three children: Natalie Godfrey of Lake Monticello, Gerard Godfrey of Lake Monticello, and Michele Yoyetewa of Arizona. She has eight grandchildren, including Aaron Shifflett and Devon Shifflett of Lake Monticello. She also leaves behind 7 great-grandchildren.
A Catholic Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 9th, with a gathering for friends and family at 10:00 a.m.
