Archie “Wayne” Marshall, 82, passed away at his home on January 22, 2022. He was born on September 2, 1939 to his late parents, Archie “Webb” Marshall and Della Florence Ferguson Marshall. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Carles Poston Hofmeester Marshall; sister, Ramona Henley Jones; brothers, Charles Lewis Henley, James William Henley and Clarence Everett Henley; son-in-law, William Russell “Rusty” Croson; grandson, Justin Pebbels; and honorary grandson, Johnathan Evans. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Judith Ann Marshall-Croson; stepdaughters, Earlene Perry, Barrie Savoie (Bob), Brent Taylor (Clint) and Buffy Koenig (Jason); grandchildren, Kevin Kronander, Jr. (Lacey), Jacob Kronander (Daesha), Collin Kronander (Erica), Brigitt Thomas (Mark), Brice Perry, Natalie Speidal (Greg), Nicholas Savoie, Jordan Pebbles (Joseph), Monica Doiga, Austin Koenig and Philip Koenig; honorary granddaughter, Kaleena McCarn; great grandchildren, Aliyah Kronander, Kendall Kronander, McKayla Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Ethan Perry, Kayden Perry, Thomas Doiga, Oliver Doiga and Ivy Doiga; honorary great grandchild, Ryder Cole Evans; nieces and nephews, Tiny Henley, Howard Jones (Ritta), Todd Jones (Lisa) and Treasa Griggs; and great nieces and nephews, Tammy Kemp and Johnathon Griggs.
He was a master mason with lodge 311 for 50 years, a member of the American Legion Post 0116 and the Louisa County Moose Lodge 2065. Wayne was in the United States Army Headquarters Company 1st Battalion 87
th
Infantry with a specialty number and heavy weapons title where he was awarded sharpshooter with Rifle M-14. He served overseas May 1963 to April 1965.
Wayne owned Marshalls Convenience Store in Mineral, VA, worked for Rockingham Sleepware and Tri-Dim Filter Corporation as a sewing machine mechanic in the maintenance department. He was quite the golfer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was known and loved by many for his loyal, kind and loving ways. He will truly be missed by many.
