Ray Lee Proffitt

Ray Lee Proffitt, Sr., 71, of Columbia, VA, went to be with the Heavenly Father on February 8, 2021. Ray was born on November 24, 1949 to his late parents, Linwood Ray Proffitt and Louise Marie Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Virginia Proffitt; 3 sons, Ray Proffitt, Jr. (Shannalyn), Roger Proffitt (Tanya) and Michael Proffitt (Marschia); a daughter, Marcia Shiflett (Mike); 8 grandchildren, Devin Proffitt, Destiny Proffitt, Dylan Proffitt, Tabatha Shiflett, Hunter Proffitt, Samantha Proffitt, Isabella Shiflett and Addison Proffitt; 2 great grandchildren, Waylon Proffitt and Wyatt Proffitt; 2 brothers, Fredrick Johnson (Sandy) and Floyd Proffitt (Judy); 3 sisters, Dorothy Perry, Nancy Johnson and Dale Johnson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Sheridan Funeral Home in Kents Store, VA.
