Linda Scott Russell Linda Carnell Scott Russell, 71, formerly of Louisa, VA, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 in Pemberton, NJ. She was the 9th child out of 11 born on March 31, 1949 to James B. and Lettie Parrish Scott. During her early years, she became a member of the Galilee Baptist Church where she accepted the Lord as her savior. She also sang in a group with two of her sisters called the Scott Sisters. She was educated in Louisa County and graduated from A.G. Richardson Training School in June 1968. Shortly after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart Larry Stanley Russell. They were married for 50 years and made their home in Willingboro, NJ. Linda was an active and faithful member of the Garden of Prayer Church in Pemberton, NJ. Her favorite scripture was John 3:16 and she enjoyed listening to inspirational music by Yolanda Adams and Tye Tribbett. However, her favorite song was ‘Awesome’ by Pastor Charles Jenkins. Linda was a genuinely kind and humble person who loved the Lord. She was always so full of joy and laughter. You could hear her infectious laugh throughout the house when she visited. She also loved animals and enjoyed ‘talking’ to them. She jokingly thought of herself as an animal whisperer. She is predeceased by her husband, her parents, sister- in-laws, Edwina Hawkins and Shirley Scott; brother-in- laws, James (JB) Harris and Henry Jackson; one niece, Wendy Taylor; one brother, Oscar Scott and four precious sisters whom she adored, Teresa Taylor, Ann Jackson, Delaphine Grooms and Rosa Harris. Linda leaves behind a legacy of family, faith, love and laughter. Survivors to cherish her memory include three children, Lariney (Scottie) Russell and his wife, Cheryl of Acworth, GA; LaMar Arnold and her husband, Fabian and LaVon Russell of Willingboro, NJ. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Louise Russell of Philadelphia, PA, her brothers, James (June) Scott of Williamstown, NJ; Gilbert Scott and his wife, Barbara; Alfonza Scott and his wife, Sue and Millard Scott and his wife, Isabel; brother-in-law, Robert Earl Grooms, all of Louisa, VA; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at the TL Hutton Family & Friends Funeral Services in Burlington, NJ on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 11am. The service may be viewed online at: https://www.tlhuttonfuneralservices.com/livestream A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 12pm at the Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery at 3598 Three Notch Road, Kents Store, VA. There will be no repast. Final arrangements are entrusted to the TL Hutton Family & Friends Funeral Services in Burlington, NJ and the Sheridan Funeral Home in Kents Store, VA. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the social distancing guidelines that have been determined by the CDC and the state of Virginia must be followed including the wearing of masks.
