Sarah E. Cox

Sarah Elaine Cox, 75, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2023, at her home in Palmyra, Virginia. She was born on April 7, 1947, in Kents Store Virginia to the late Willie Joseph Hamm and Effie Melton Hamm. She is preceded in death by her husband Fulton Cox, her sister Ila H. Thacker and brothers, Stanley s. Hamm, Linwood J. Hamm, James A. Hamm, Russell M. Hamm, Robert L. Hamm, and George W. Hamm. Sarah is survived by her daughters, Donna L. Hamm (Russell) of Palmyra, and Rhonda M. Holmes (Chuck) of Fork Union; her sons Brian Miller (Rhonda) of Staunton, Anthony Fulton Cox (Christine) of Chesterfield; her brother William R. Hamm (Jan) of Kents Store; her sister Phyllis H. Bickley of Palmyra; her Grandchildren: Joseph Hamm, Matthew Hamm, Michaela Hamm, Kacey Hughes, Hunter Hughes, Peyton Hughes, Jackson Holmes, David Miller, Kenna Miller, Johnnie Miller, Chad Cox, Dylan Cox; her four Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her dearest and best friend Brenda Powell. Sarah was love and cherished by her family and was blessed with many friends. A gathering of friends will take place on Thursday January 26, 2023, from 6-8pm at Sheridan Funeral Home, 4626 Cedar Lane Rd., Kents Store, VA 23084. Funeral Service will be held on Friday January 27, 2023, 11:00 am at Beulah Baptist Church, 1633 Kents Store Way, Kents Store, VA 23084, with interment to follow.
