Ellett was a phenomenal musician. If it had strings he could play it, but his first love was the banjo. Later he taught himself to play the piano and led praise and worship at the church he loved, Open Door Church. Ellett was administrator of Open Door Chri
stian School for many
years as well as a teacher. He loved math and
computer and
enjoyed challenging his high school students with his unique perspectives. Ellett loved Jesus Christ with all his heart and after retirement spent many hours reading his Bible and in prayer.
One of his last journal entries reads as follows, “Still praying and studying the Word
, endeavoring to hear and grow and fulfill all of God’s will for us.”
We
know Ellett has a great reward in heaven.
Despite his disability, Ellett loved life. He always had a positive attitude and was such an inspiration to all he met.
Everyone that met him in the hospital remarked that he was a favorite patient and how sweet he was.
He loved to hunt and fish with his daddy whom he was so close to.
He loved playing Mario Kart and spending time with his buddies
,
Cameron and Tim. I know I speak for all of us, Ellett, we can’t wait to see you dancing when we are all united together for eternity. We love you and miss you so much.
