Teresa Powell Shifflett

Teresa Powell Shifflett, 58, of Palmyra, Virginia, passed away on April 19, 2025. Born on May 23, 1966, Teresa dedicated her life to her family and her career as a medical transcriptionist at the University of Virginia.

Known for her deep love for her family, Teresa was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. She found joy in the simplest pleasures of life, spending time at the beach, shopping, and traveling. Her presence brought warmth and happiness to those around her, making every moment count with her loved ones.

Teresa is survived by her father, Edward B. Powell; her brother, Robert Powell (Rena and Neil); her husband, Vernon Linwood Shifflett; her son, Caleb Ross Shifflett and his wife, Karmen; her daughter, Courtney Blair Lukowicz and her husband, Cameron; and her adored grandchildren, Maddie Grey Lukowicz and Olivia Louise Shifflett. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Irene Powell.

She enjoyed time at the beach, shopping, and traveling. Her presence brought warmth and happiness to those around her, making every moment count with her loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at Belmont Baptist Church on May 3, 2025. The family will receive guests from 1 :00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.

Teresa's life was a testament to the love and care she bestowed upon her family and friends. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
