Thomas Melvin Sandridge

Thomas “Tommy” Melvin Sandridge, died peacefully at his home on October 3, 2023. Tommy was the son of Joe and Gladys Sandridge. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Lois Ladd and Emily Payne; his children from his marriage to Shirley Sandridge, Bryon and his wife Kathy, Cheryl and her wife Katina, and his grandchildren, Brett and his wife Alex, Austin, and Jordan, and his great grandchildren, Carson, Rory, Baylor, and Clyde; his stepchildren from his marriage to Irene Sandridge, Jason Howell, Ryan Howell, and Kelly Robey, and step grandchildren, Jacob, Olivia, Catie, Emi, and Laney; along with cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends who were like family to him.

Tommy was born December 17, 1946, in Charlottesville, and lived in Virginia his entire life. Tommy was a veteran who served our country and worked as a general contractor who also owned and managed his rentals on P-paw Lane. Tommy was a man with a generous heart who had his own quiet way of making a difference in the lives of many families along the way.

There will be a Celebration of Life to celebrate Tommy at Three Chopt Community Center, located at 2366 Oliver Creek Road in Troy, Virginia. The event will take place on Saturday, October 28, from 6 p.m.to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in loving memory of Tommy to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Shriner’s Hospital.
