Vernon Grady "Skeeter"

Vernon Slater Grady, Sr., (Skeeter) 77, of Goochland, Virginia, passed away on January 16, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.  

Skeeter was born on April 15, 1946, to William and Avis Grady.
 
 He is survived by his loving wife Monica McKinney, his son Vernon Slater Grady, Jr. (Duke) and wife Wendy, his daughter Betty Jane Wall (Puddin), his stepdaughter Sarah Jane McKinney, his brothers James Grady (Jim), Marion Lee Grady (Puggy) and his grandchildren, Courtney, Austen Grady, Rebekah Cook, Elizabeth Lewis, and Katie Hayes.

Preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Clarence Reuben Grady (Bubba) and Charles Grady (Tator).

Skeeter was long time employee of almost 30 years for J.E. Liesfield Construction. He loved the outdoors, hunting, enduro racing, demolition derby’s, the Redskins and sitting on the back porch swing with a red solo cup. Skeeter was a lifelong proud member of the Fife Hunt Club. He will be missed by many.  
 
 A visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, between the hours of 6-8pm, at Norman Funeral Chapel, 2982 River Road West, Goochland Virginia.

Norman Funeral Chapel will handle his arrangements.
