It is with deep sorrow, that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Violet R. Lowry, who at the age of 83, went to join her beloved husband in heaven, Theodore R. Lowry Jr., from the Pea Ridge Area of Goochland, Va.
She is predeceased by her husband Theodore (Tucker) Lowry Jr., her parents Vanderbilt and Macie (Moore) Rice, and a brother Spencer Rice. She leaves behind three children, a daughter Deborah Foster (Doug) and two sons, Roger Lowry (Karen), and Jamie Lowry (Tina). She has four grandchildren, Holly (Jessica), Joey, James jr. (Emily), and Jordan. She has two great grandchildren, Hannah and Langston. Brothers, Paul, Charlie, and Wayne. Sisters, Louise, Ernestine, Shirley, and Frances.
Violet was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, but as a young girl, was raised on a farm in Cartersville, VA. As an adult, she worked and retired from the University of Richmond, which she loved and adored. She was a woman of many skills, strengths, and warm kindness that made everyone feel welcome. She was a wonderful, beautiful Mother, who was always there, when needed. A true friend to everyone. She passed away with family members by her side. Family was everything to her!
To commemorate her incredible life's journey, the children will receive family and friends in her honor on October 31, between 6 - 8pm, at Norman Funeral Chapel, 2982 River Road West, Goochland, VA 23063.
