Willie Robert Logan, affectionately known to family and friends as “Bill” quietly entered eternal rest on May 5, 2023, at the age of 77, surrounded by his family.
Bill was born on January 24, 1946, to the late Theordora Logan. He was raised in New Canton, Virginia, and educated by the Buckingham County school system. He was baptized at Zion Grove Baptist Church and attended until he moved to Washington, DC at the age of 22. After moving, he was employed at Phillips 66 Service Station for many years. He then moved on to work in the District Government Public School system. He remained there for over 30 years and finally retired in 2019.
Bill “Logan” was highly respected and adored by his family and friends. He was a strong role model for his entire family. He was the first to move away from home. He left Virginia and moved to DC in search of something adventurous. He was a quiet, gentle man; a loving husband; and devoted father. Some of his favorite past times were taking bus trips to various casinos, listening to oldies but goodies and doo wop music, watching westerns, collecting books, and having Sunday buffet dinners with his late wife. Bill’s lifelong dream was to take a car or train ride across the county to California; however, that dream never came to pass.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother Therodora; his beloved wife Wonda; his niece Miranda Logan; and his nephew Markus Logan. Bill’s presence will be missed throughout his family and friends; however, he leaves behind many fond memories.
He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters: Felicia Gains Wright (Floyd) of Virginia, Tiara Logan of MD, Tiana Allen (William) of MD; his son, Chantz Claggette Logan (Kawanda) of Viriginia, his grandchildren: Aliyah Kelly of Washington, Tamani Peterson, William “CJ” Allen of MD, Aaron Anderson, Baby Logan Claggette of Virigina; his sisters: Shirley Logan, Patsy Logan, Mary Logan-Wilson (A.D. deceased) of Virginia, his brothers: Benjamin Logan, Jerome Logan (Maria) of Washington, Allen Logan of Louisa, Virginia; his sisters-in-laws Sandy Muse, Wendy Muse of MD, Dorothette (deceased) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
